Is there any way to add a font to the menu? I know there are sites where you can download fonts, but I don't know how you would incorporate a downloaded font into Open Office, or whether it's possible.

In my experience you can cut and paste the text of an email--just the text, not anything else that's on the page--into an OO document and it doesn't go all over the place. I guess it might depend on your email program. I just do that, then make a pdf of the document by clicking the icon on the

I have a Writer document in which I marked off separations between passages with asterisks. Somehow the lines of asterisks turned into horizontal double lines across the page, the top line thicker than the bottom, and I cannot delete them. I have tried copying and pasting text from the document
